Designed and customised for the individual student’s needs, SIMON & SIMON’s Arabic courses, taught by a team of qualified native Arabic speakers who average 15 years of experience, have already benefited professionals and non-professionals across the UK. Courses cater for all levels of experience. The feedback on our Arabic tutors that we receive from our clients is consistently excellent. Prior to the start of your Arabic course, you will be sent a profile on your specific Arabic teacher’s experience and background.

The way that modern languages are taught has gone through a revolution in the past few years. If you have only learned languages at school you will find that the experience now is vastly more fun and worthwhile. The Communicative Approach means that your Arabic lessons in Isle-of-Wight will be almost entirely through the medium of Arabic. You will feel that you are making real progress, even in the first lesson, and will soon communicate in Arabic with confidence, in a range of social and business environments.

Our Arabic language courses are available on both a 1:1 and group basis, but the majority of our clients offer 1:1 Arabic training to their employees. However, with careful planning, group training can offer great value for money, provided there is a real commitment from the participants to get together at the same time every week. We strongly recommend you keep group numbers to 6 or less for these types of courses to be successful. Those learning Arabic in at Isle-of-Wight on a 1:1 basis will naturally make much faster progress, as the course will be designed around their individual needs and focus on their particular strengths and weaknesses.

Arabic Course Management

Every SIMON & SIMON Arabic language course has a highly experienced, multi-lingual Account Manager who oversees it. When your Arabic course starts you will be sent a profile on your trainer, materials for your course and a Course Plan as well as a Progress Report for every 40 hours of training. Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter that you will also receive, contains a prize draw as well as weblinks to a number of learning resources.

SIMON & SIMON Arabic language courses have been arranged for clients in various locations. Full-time Arabic courses can be arranged in a residential setting for you. Our office has information on the locations we offer.

Isle-of-Wight Arabic Course Schedules

We run Arabic language courses in Isle-of-Wight all year. Most of our students participate in no less than one 90-minute lesson per week, but many students will participate in more if work commitments allow. Weekend Courses can be facilitated, and our Arabic weekday courses run from Monday to Friday, from 8am to 8pm. Intensive Arabic language courses are also available and can be run at the client’s premises or a residential centre in the UK or overseas. These courses take place over 6 hours a day, Monday through Friday, for 30 hours per week.

Your Arabic language course’s content will be tailored to your experience and goals. Prior to the course, we will assess your Arabic language level and speak to you comprehensively about the areas and subjects you are interested in. Students may be complete novices who need everyday Arabic conversational skills or have more proficiency in Arabic and wish to be able to discuss various business topics such as banking or finance more fluently. Students may desire to bolster their Arabic for negotiations and meetings or focus on gaining better listening, pronunciation and comprehension skills. No matter what your needs, you can be confident that our very experienced Arabic language trainers will work with you on a Arabic language course that is tailored for you so that you quickly meet your goals.

Arabic Language Examination Courses

Arabic examination preparation for business or other examinations can also be assisted with. Our students boast a 95% rate of passing such examinations, proving the value of our policy of Arabic teachers in Isle-of-Wight with experience above the average. SIMON & SIMON also organises registration and administration of Arabic examinations as well as issuing results certificates as a part of our service.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Arabic is a Central Semitic language, thus related to and classified alongside other Semitic languages such as Hebrew and the Neo-Aramaic languages. Arabic has more speakers than any other language in the Semitic language family. It is spoken by more than 280 million people as a first language, most of whom live in the Middle East and North Africa. It is the official language of 22 countries and it is the liturgical language of Islam since it is the language of the Quran, the Islamic Holy Book. Arabic has many different, geographically distributed spoken varieties, some of which are mutually unintelligible. Modern Standard Arabic (sometimes called Literary Arabic) is widely taught in schools, universities, and used in workplaces, government and the media.

The Isle of Wight is a county and the largest island of England, located in the English Channel, 3–5 miles (5–8 km) off the south coast of the county of Hampshire, separated from the mainland by a strait called the Solent. The island is known for its natural beauty, its sailing based at the town of Cowes, and its resorts, which have been holiday destinations since Victorian times. The Island has a rich history, including a brief status as an independent kingdom in the 15th century. Until 1995, in common with Jersey and Guernsey, the island had its own Governor - most notably Lord Mountbatten from 1969–1974, after which he became Lord Lieutenant until his assassination in 1979. It was home to the poet Alfred Lord Tennyson, and to Queen Victoria, who built her much loved summer residence and final home Osborne House at East Cowes. The island's maritime and industrial history encompasses boat building, sail making, the manufacture of flying boats, the world's first hovercraft and the testing and development of Britain's space rockets. It is home to the Isle of Wight International Jazz Festival, Bestival and the recently-revived Isle of Wight Festival, which, in 1970, was the largest rock music event ever held. The island has some exceptional wildlife and is one of the richest locations of dinosaur fossils in Europe. In the past, the Isle of Wight has been part of Hampshire. In 1890, it became an independent administrative county, though it continued to share the Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire.
